Meaning Maria could do as she pleased for her maternity leave.
As the bump grew he just got better and better freely giving her back massages.
And always wanting to spend time with the bump.
She was one happy mummy oven, despite the only top that would fit her looking alittle worse for wear.
Specially when Torgo bought her home a stereo and a stove one evening to celebrate his promotion to a filing clerk.
He regreted buying the stereo when she started brooding though, as she decided to listen to children's music day and night.
even dancing to it.
Torgo admitted he hoped for a girl and fed Maria watermelon the whole time, following old wifes tales. She began to look like a watermelon.
They sold the shed and bought a cot ready, which was just in time. Later that night the contractions started, Torgo freaked out totally. Maria was sure this was no false alarm.
She had been reading a pregnancy book, and wanted to try having the baby at home... if only she had finished that book.
After hours of labour they decided to take a trip to the hospital.
The reason for the difficult labour become known when they where forced to leave the hospital with two babies. Maria promptly turned off the stereo when she returned home.
Twin girls Zinnia and Zea where beautiful. And to be honest Maria and Torgo really where on top of the world with happiness.
Now with two cots things really were tight. But their little faces made it all worth it.
They were not gonna get caught out again though, and vowed to get birth control sorted as soon as the girls where toddlers and they where in the mood again.
They managed to afford a kitchen after the girls where born. Of course it was still part of the one room they where living in, but things where looking up. Maria still burnt the food though.
The twins didn't make it to toddlers before Maria felt that tell tale feeling again. Being neurotic to the core Torgo was very pleased.
And went back to playing with Maria's belly day and night, and Maria went back to listening to children's music. They blaimed their fertility on how young they where.
The twins made to to their birthday before the new baby arrived.
Of course the cake was lit OUTSIDE.
Zinnia first.
Who grew up to have Daddies hair and Mummies eyes.
Then Zea
Zea had mummies eyes and mummies hair, oddly even with the singed ends, which even more oddly, had stayed in Maria's hair since she was 5.
Both girls got Daddies jaw!!
Maria's bump grew quick and big second time round, following an old wifes tale she filled herself with apples to fulfill her wish for a boy.
Torgo didn't panic any less second time round.
Maria had finished the pregnancy book this time, but a homebirth still was not to be. Why?
Because they returned from hospital with two babies again.
Maria threw the childrens music playing stereo out the window.
Twin boys Abutilon and Amaranthus had arrived.
Things become mad, totally and completely mad. Torgo coped by washing his hands repeatedly and over checking the stove.
Training the girls needed skills, had to be fit into baby care, toddler feeding and multiple nappy changes.
It's no wonder when Maria and Torgo celebrated their birthdays they had grown a few wrinkles.
Maria was so tired she didn't even fuss about having the cake lit inside.
They celebrated by going to bed...to sleep.
